16.00 PM

Local Land Charges at Broadland District Council now have the functionality and set up to be able to work remotely however, their systems are not up and running as of yet. They are hoping their services will resume tomorrow.

Sheffield City Council Local Land Charges have confirmed that they will only be operating a statutory service due to the COVID 19 outbreak. They are unable to accept any CON29 searches until further notice as the responses are reliant on other departments who are currently experiencing delays. We are still able to provide Regulated Local Searches for this Council.

City of London Local Land Charges are currently unable to process or return searches due to implementing a new system.

Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council Local Land Charges have informed us that they have had a small electrical fire within their office grounds on Sunday 5th April 2020 and therefore they have no systems.

Their IT Department are working as hard as they can to get the system back up and running, however until it is working no searches can be processed or returned.

This is affecting all searches.

Gateshead Borough Council Local Land Charges have advised that they have reviewed their access and confirmed they can process searches.

Please note the following amendments to their search results:

  • 2.1 a - A Highways plan will not be provided. However, if not all roads are adopted a link to view the adoption register on their website will given.
  • Non conditional, withdrawn and rejected planning applications on the CON29 will be from 1983 onwards. All conditional ones will be shown on the LLC1 from 1st August 1977.
  • Building regulations will be provided from 2004 onwards.

Their cancellation policy remains the same as cannot cancel once accepted.

The oldest outstanding search is from Friday 13th March 2020. They are aiming to return the results by close of business on Thursday 9th April 2020.

Local Land Charges will be returning and processing searches in date and time order.

Their turnaround time has been increased from 18 to 20 working days.

3rd April 2020

12.00 PM

East Northamptonshire District Council Local Land Charges have confirmed they are able to work remotely and can now process and return searches.

Their turnaround will be decreased from 31 days to 20 working days. The oldest outstanding search is from Wednesday 11th March 2020.

North East Derbyshire District Council Local Land Charges have closed their offices. Searches can still be submitted, however any searches that were submitted on and after Wednesday 18th March 2020 will not be returned until Local Land Charges can return to the office.

Anything that was submitted before Wednesday 18th March 2020 has been processed and returned. All searches are affected.

Bolsover District Council Local Land Charges are now working remotely and are processing and returning searches. They are working to 25 working days.

2nd April 2020

15.00 PM

We regret to inform you that Trafford Borough Council Local Land Charges have temporarily closed their offices.

They are unable to work remotely and therefore, any searches that were accepted on and after Wednesday 18th March 2020 will not be processed or returned until Local Land Charges can setup remote access to all sections. All searches are affected.


11.30 PM

The Land Charges offices of Broadland District Council and East Northamptonshire Council are now able to process search requests.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council Local Land Charges have closed their offices. They are unable to work remotely and therefore, no searches submitted after Tuesday 31st March 2020 will be processed or returned. The searches that are currently accepted will be returned in date and time order as they work through the backlog.

All searches are affected.


11.00 PM

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council Local Land Charges have confirmed they are able to work remotely and can now process and return searches.

Their turnaround time will increase from 7 to 13 working days. The oldest outstanding search is from Wednesday 18th March 2020, which will be due on Tuesday 7th April 2020.

1st April 2020

12.30 PM

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council Local Land Charges have advised they are having internal operational issues when working from home, which is being urgently reviewed. They are able to process searches however, they are suspending returning search results until further notice.

High Peak Borough Council Local Land Charges have confirmed that their Highways team are now able to work remotely, therefore they can process full Local Authority search requests. There are no outstanding search requests in the system. Their turnaround has been decreased from 25 to 10 working days.


11.30 PM

The Local Land Charges offices at St Helens Borough Council are closed and they are unable to work remotely. This means that no searches can be processed or returned that this time. The oldest outstanding search is from Wednesday 18th March.

The Local Land Charges offices at North East Derbyshire District Council are closed and they are unable to work remotely. Any searches that were submitted on or after Wednesday 18th March will not be processed or returned until they are able to return to the office.

The Local Land Charges offices at Kingston Upon Thames Royal London Borough are closed and are unable to work remotely. This means that no searches can be processed or returned at this time. The oldest outstanding search is from Tuesday 10th March.

Dover District Council have confirmed that their Local Land Charges department are able to work remotely and can now process and return searches. The turnaround time will be decreased from 28 working days to 13.

Broxtowe Borough Council Local Land Charges have increased their turnaround time from 15 working days to 20 working days due to a delay in the highways department.

31st March 2020

16.30 PM

Bury Borough Council Local Land Charges have confirmed their offices are closed. They are unable to work remotely and therefore, no new searches can be processed or returned. All searches are affected.

Broadland District Council Local Land Charges are unable to process or return searches. They are currently trying to implement remote working, however unable to confirm when this will be up and running. All searches are affected.

Peterborough City Council Local Land Charges have confirmed they are able to work remotely and can now process and return searches. Their turnaround will be decreased from 23 working days to 8 working days.


13.00 PM

The Local Land Charges offices of Corby Borough Council and West Lancashire Borough Council are currently closed. They are unable to work remotely no new searches can be processed or returned. All searches are affected.

The Local Land Charges offices of Waverley Borough Council have advised that any searches that had previously been accepted have now all been returned.

Therefore, any newly submitted searches after Monday 23rd March 2020 will not be accepted or returned as the Local Authority do not have the capacity to work from home.


11.30 PM

Notification of Closures

Ceredigion County Council Local Land Charges have closed their Offices due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak. It is not yet confirmed whether they are able to work from home.

Greenwich Local Land Charges have closed their offices. Unfortunately, Local Land Charges are unable to work remotely and therefore, no searches can be processed or returned.


Updates

Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council Local Land Charges have resumed their services and are now able to process and return council searches.

Maldon District Council Local Land Charges have confirmed they are able to work remotely and can now process and return council searches. Their turnaround will be decreased from 38 working days to 15 working days.

Wrexham County Borough County Local Land Charges have closed, however they are still able to process council searches. Their turnaround time has increased from 10 to 25 working days.

In addition, the following turnaround times have been changed due to current delays.

City of London from 10 to 16 working days.

Croydon London Borough from 5 to 10 working days.

South Norfolk District Council from 7 to 10 working days.

Rushcliffe Borough Council from 9 to 15 working days.

Chelmsford City Council from 15 to 20 working days.

Hounslow London Borough Council from 10 to 20 working days.

Notification of extended turnaround times

We have been advised of the following updated turnaround times for Council Local Searches. These are a direct result of closures related to COVID-19.


  • Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council from 10 working days to 25 working days.
  • West Berkshire District Council from 25 to 40 working days.
  • Maldon District Council from 23 to 38 working days.
  • Bolsover District Council from 10 to 25 working days.
  • Peterborough City Council from 8 to 23 working days.

In addition, the following local authorities have increased their turnarounds due to current backlogs and delays.

  • Rossendale Borough Council from 5 to 15 working days.
  • Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council COM/ RES from 10 working days to 15 workings days.
  • Enfield London Borough Council from 28 to 35 working days.
  • Lancaster City Council from 4 to 8 working days.
  • Wealden District Council from 7 to 10 working days.
  • Lewes District Council from 15 to 20 working days.

12.15 PM

Thames Water have confirmed that they are currently not producing their CON29DW. We are getting clarity of whether this affects our Regulated Drainage and Water report and will update you in due course.


10.30 AM

We are receiving high numbers of notifications from local authorities to highlight closures and restrictions. We are currently working our way through these to provide updates on how this affects you.

So far, we are aware that the following 12 local authorities are closed for either Regulated Local Searches and/or Council Searches.

With the government’s latest requirements, we have moved ALL of our colleagues to home working for the foreseeable future. We have strict guidelines in place for home working to ensure our customer service levels are not affected by these measures.

In light of the current situation, we wanted to give you a further update on the measures we are taking here at poweredbypie & PSG.

Our priority is the health, safety and well-being of all of colleagues and customers and as such we are putting home working solutions in place. All of our CPDs, training sessions and account management meetings will be moved to either a call or online with immediate effect.

With regards to our service to you, we have robust plans in place so that we’re able to get through any scenario. “We continue to take a ‘business as usual’ approach in our commitment to support your caseloads.

We are also working extremely closely with our suppliers to minimise disruption where we can. And, we are looking to offer search delay insurance to give you and your clients some peace of mind throughout these unsettling times. In the event of any delays, we will offer alternative solutions wherever possible.
